FR engine oil

Hiya folks, I checked the oil level on my petrol FR today and it was on the low side. Is 5w40 the correct oil to top it up with?

How many miles on the motor mate?

5w40 meeting 505.01 spec.

It's done just about 1700 miles.

Just checked mine and its about in the middle of the textured area 2500miles on mine

I use 5w-30. In the first oil change (1500km) i used Aral supertronic iii. In the next oil change i am thinking of using castrol edge 5w-30. Will it be better ?

5w30 (507.00) will be fine, but 5w40 is spec for the car.

Hey guys how you all checking your oil levels from cold or when warmed up?

It won't make much difference but i suppose first thing in the morning will give the most settled level.

O cheers techie only in the manual it's says check when up to temp a couple of times. When check mine yesterday I get full reading on first one then hardly any on second
