FR/FS speakers

hi Guys,

just a quick one really. i have just got an FR and was wondering if anyone else can tell a difference with the speaker compared to the FS?? seems like its better quality to me just wondering if its me

iirs the FR and cupra have harman karden speakers which are a better quailty then the lower ibizas

Can't see this being true - SEAT would be shouting from the treetops about it if the higher models had better quality stereo systems.

As far as I know all the cars have the exact same stereo - I certainly never noticed any difference in stereo quality between my FR and Sport or any other Ibiza I've driven.

Another case of FR/Cupra owners wanting to think they're getting everything better than everyone else I think!

only differences i know of with the ibizas is getting more speakers in the 5 door models. certainly no difference in my 2006 Sport and 2004 FR with regards to speakers or stereos.

Harman Kardon thing must be rubbish, they'd advertise this if it were true, like Audi using Bose systems.

i believe all models are the same...however there may be cases where some models might not have rear speakers at all

i was told initially that SEATs newer models had the speakers manufactured by harmann kardon, due to the standard setup sounding pretty decent.

however, i was never able to confirm this as there is no indication to who makes them anywhere...have asked SEAT UK and everything...

Having replaced my speakers with JBL components (a division of harmon kardon) in comparison the standard seat speakers are poor quality with paper cones and small magnets. If anything I would say they may be manufactured by blaupunkt as I know that they have big ties within the VW group making most of the factory head units.

speakers in my cupra were philips i believe, can't remember though!

Did each car have the same head unit? Changing the head unit makes a huge difference to the sound quality even on stock speakers.

I agree with the above, changing the HU would be the first port of call for anyone not happy with sound quality.

My mk3 Ibiza had Philips speakers too, though I swapped them for Pioneers.

they probably are blaupunkts, and yes all have the same hu (apart from the DAB versions)...i remember the mk3s had philips setup
