Hi everyone,

Firstly a little info bout me, as im a noob on here!!

I live in south east london (near sidcup), but also do a lot of driving round the sevenoaks area as the misses lives there.

Purchased my Red Ibiza FR in Nov 06, and have got about 3k miles on the clock.

Must say i absolutely love the car, very different to the pug 106 1.1 i had before! LOL  The pull on it still amazes me everytime i put my foot down!

Was just wondering really how far you can push the car in terms of max revs and speed.

i.e whats the max number of revs i should be doing in 3rd, 4th etc?

Anyways, i look forward to your thoughts, im off to give the bitch a wash (the car that is, not the misses)
Will post some pictures up later for anyone interested.....

About 5250-5750rpm would be a good change point looking at the power curves and gear ratios.

hahaha, yer :p

So is that about 5000rpm no matter what gear ya in?

Just a bit worried about thrashing the shite out of it.....

It depends on what you are after, that won't be very good for fuel consumption. For the fastest drag times you would probably be looking at Going to over 6k in first and second then 5800 for 3rd-4th and 4th-5th (these are based on the golf gear ratios but I expect them to be the same).

Yer i get ya, not looking to drive about like that all the time, only if needed ;) hahaha (teach those boy racers a lesson)

6k in 1st!! bloomin ell, ive been changing to 2nd at about 4k cos i was worried about damaging anything lol

I wouldn't drive it like that for the same reason but theoretically they are the optimum points for shifts for speed.

that's not what the book says or what I find when out and about with my brother in his pd130 :p :D   :funk: [B)]

I find 5k in 1st, 2nd and 3rd is normally enugh to to the trick

He's obviously driving it wrong ;)
Are you sure he was trying too?

and the other 1001 reasons why you might of been faster

:D

i bet your keeping remaps a secret from the ol brother nathwarr. don't want him suddenly surprising you one day do we

not wanting to get into one of those derv vs petrol threads but................both cars are boggo bhp
also as I have posted before me and bro have had spirited drives/days out along side each other and both agree that mine is quicker

so unlike a lot of people I speak with experience

end of as far as I'm concerned as mine is a weekend toy and his is his daily drive for work

if I was to loose my company astra cdti I would downgrade to 130 bhp and enter the dark side

I do enjoy seeing the better side of 4k revs at the weekend :p

bring on the mob.................

where abouts in sidcup are you from mate?? i live just outside of their in bexley village.

brought my ibiza cupra from the sidcup dealership bak in june last year. havent seen a red fr about, have seen a red cupra once or twice but thats it

are you going along to the kent meet at the end of the month?

Easy Jay,

im actually in mottingham just down the road from fiveways so that might be why you havent seen me about.

Brought mine from the bromley seat, as i work in bromley.

Whats this about a kent meet up? New to here mate so dont know much about what goes on.

i would have thought it was bedded in enough after 3k miles, no?
