Not far off them figures lol still live more than comfortably. Just wait mate, a year from now you'll have a house n the car you want and you'll think how did I think this wasn't possible ;) I bought my house between pubs on a Sunday drinking sesh haha

If that's all your mortgage is then you must either stay in an absolute shed or you had a hefty deposit..

nahh i bought a flat in 1998 sold it in 2000 and made £10k then bought a house in 2000 reduced my term.by 5 years got 6 years left then mortgage free, ive been lucky really and ive had a great financial adviser saved me thousands over the years , i could pay my mortgage off but my missus doesn't want me to because she wants to pay half and she doesn't have any savings

I'm just looking forward to the missus finishing uni in a year or so, be nice to have two wages coming in again so I can buy something for the car lol

Balls to that, I'd over pay as much as I possibly could and if your missus wanted to contribute get her to stick the money in your account ;)

Best thing you can do imo is become mortgage free.

Aye still only 'young' so have a few years n that. And Johnny don't comment please lol.

i wasn't going to say anything mate for what its worth i think you are making the right decision, the sensible one , sensible may well be boring sometimes but it pays of and financial security is something well worth working and saving for

me and the missus have separate accounts, im better with money than she is it works for us and the mortgage doesn't bother me i don't mind waiting if i paid it off now the interest savings wouldn't be that great. Anyway , i might do in a year or two

I'd just see it as £300 a month that I could use to save for a holiday or spend on the car :)
