I had 2 Toyo T1R's fitted at Camskill for £170.
Depends really if you want premium, mid or budgets.

You can get tyres in 215/40-17 from £70 each fitted - depends what you want in a tyre.
Try places like Blackcircles, mytyres, etyres , camskill etc
EG yokohama prada spec 2 tyres are only 102 each fitted by blackcircles.
I think they were Michelin Sport Max....
Aren't Toyo's premium? And also very soft compound so therefore don't last long?
It's my own choice but I try to stick with "Z" rated tyres whenever possible.
I just feel that with the 2.0TDi lump up front giving the tyres a hard time (torque and weight of engine) you need to have a tougher tyre under the car.
The Yoko's are great but they are NOT a winter tyre - absolutely shite in the snow and can aquaplane when very wet.
i must admit to liking the OEM bridgestones but they seem to be impossible to find outside the dealer network.
Dunlop Sport Maxx or Michelin Exalto's would be a bit pricier than the Toyo's!
Yea, the Toyo's are softer and wear quicker but I personally think theyre a great tyre for the price. I wouldn't say they were premium though...

Can anyone recommend a tyre to go for, I'm in the same boat - two fronts need changing but have absolutely NO idea about tyres.
They are going on a Cupra if that helps...
Don't want crap budget tyres, I drive 'spiritedly' but can't afford to shell out £150 a corner for the P-Zero's I got on it from the dealer when i bought it!!?!

+1 for the falkens I have them all round and find them great, good grip levels - similar to P7's, predictable in wet and nice tread patern lol. £85 ish a corner from blackcircles can't complain!
Over the last 12 months i've tried various tyres due to been in between cars & borrowing family members cars.
bridgestone re050a - noise problem
toyo tr1 - ok in dry, can aqua plane in wet as v pattern. I personally won't have toyo again
yokohama advan sport - still can't believe how good these were.
yokohama s drive - again great tyres
kumho ku31 - great grip but lacked feel
avon zv5 - again great & they have now sorted shedding tread problems out
P zero - great grip but not got the feel of the Yoko or Avon.
I can only comment on wear rates of re050a 15k on front, t1r 8k & advan sport 12k

I like the bridgestones on the car and on my Honda Blackbird.
Unfortunately as has just been said - they are taking the p*ss with the current pricing.
I am happy with my stock Goodyear Excellence. Got 19000 miles out the front and the rears have still got loads left. That's the most I have ever got out of front tyres, and I wasn't being kind to them.

Very cheap, I just ordered two Goodyear Excellence tyres (original factory fit) at £107 each, ATS wanted £139
The best bit, they come to you (mobile fitting) If all goes to plan I will be very chuffed!

Bridgestone RE050 are on mine at the mo but at £150 + i will be looking for something else when it comes to renewal.
Bridgestone RE050 £133.09 including VAT and mobile fitting.
