Free Air Subs - any good?

Hi all!

i want a sub in my MK2 Ibiza but i need all the space in the boot for carrying tools, ive got a 10" at the mo but its going to take up too much room.

im thinking a free air is going to be the only way to go but ive never had one, are they any good? will they still give a good solid punch?

plenty of side space in the 1/4's to build the sub into, take less boot space than in a shelf as well

along these sort of lines but add a grille/bars if you carrying a boot full

i might have to have another look in mine, it would be nice to stick a couple in, is that a 6 or an 8?

there's quite a volume in the quarter's but it's worth working out what volume you need as they reach through to the sides of the rear seat so will need boxing off somewhere

im going to need 0.25ft³, do you think i could get this in the quarters?

im thinking of getting a couple of e3.6 6" subs, dont seem a bad price either! $39.99

or i might get one 6w3v3-8 which only needs 0.15 ft³, then when i can afford it i might get another.

thank you both for your help! :D
