Right, this might sound stupid but I'll go for it anyhoo! I recently bought a Ibiza FR TDI from Belmont motors. The car is a 07 plate with 38k on the clock. On collecting the car I was happy with it and they gave it an oil change out of curtosy. I then noticed that at the 4 year/40k service the pollen filter, break fluid, sump plug, fuel filter and timin belt and water pump should be changed. I thought fair enough, they sold me this car at 38k and 3 months short of 4 years old. So I went ahead and got a qoute from Seat at Earlston and they gave me a written qoute for 760 pounds including vat. My reaction.........not best pleased! So out of chance, I phoned Belmont motors and told them about the qoute and that I thought that it was unacceptable that after only 3 months of owning the car I would have to fork out that sort of money. To my total surprise, the sales manager honoured the blame and has offered to do all the remaining work including the timing belt, using genuine Seat parts for free
So my question is, Belmont motors is a bit like an Arnold Clark, they seem to specialise in KIA, vauxhall and Suzuki. Not VAG! Where as if I take it to Seat, I'm 700 quid out of pocket but I'll know it's all done properly. I've already asked them if they could pay for me to take it to seat and they said........No! So it's Belmont Motors and and 700 better off with the possibility of it not being done correctly or go to Seat and be 700 out of pocket. What would other folk do?
