am I right in thinking the discs for the tdi sport 130 are 288mm? I bought some new discs today and the ones they have given me are 280mm - is that definitely wrong without me taking off a wheel to check?

At a guess - I think they may have picked the ones from the previous model (although the book he was looking in did say 02- )

I have a 2003 TDi 130 sport.

mine are 288mm x 25mm. ( and look for 5 stud wheel bolt pattern )

280 mm discs sounds like the older 4 stud wheel patern.

Yep 288mm on my ibiza 130 tdi sport/53 plate, my old leon se tdi/03 plate had 280mm ones? that was 5 stud too.... I recently had the pads done on the front, the vw/audi/seat/skoda specialist garage said he hadn`t seen any front brakes the same before, he had loads of types in stock but had to special order the pads for mine....

ok cheers - I will take them back then! I could get one of the discs off next time I go, but if they are an odd size I can see them not being stocked and it being a wasted effort pulling the wheels apart :D

He checked on the computer too with my reg number and sure he said it came up as a diesel 130 - their database must be incorrect as well as the catalogue he was using.

yeah it is the tdi sport 130 - thought my last comment was a bit wooly!

I mean when he put my reg in his computer it did comeup with the right model so the parts should have been right - if the registration lookup had returned a different model I could have understood getting the wrong part.

I use a place called "Volksworld" in Preston. He has cross referenced every part I needed for my 130 TDi with the VW part.

He carries discs and pads in stock at good pricing.
