Front fender inner splash shield

Hello,

I have a question about front fender inner splash shield. Long story short... A few months back I drove on the highway and there was a lot of water everywhere, and the next day I noticed a little plastic part (aprox. 20 x 20 cm) right behind the front left wheel hanging off on one side. I attached it back on, and problem was solved. When I changed summer tyres for winter tyres, I saw that front inner splash shiled was cracked (about 10 cm) and didn't bother much. A few days back it snowed and I pushed the car quite hard on snowy roads. The next day that little piece was hanging down again.

Is that cracked splash shield, because it's a bit loose and it detaches?

The design is very weak. I had 3 fail, all in the same place on both of my Mk3 Leons.

Did you solve it anyhow or did you replace the part when it fell off? I'm thinking about plastic tie to tighten it?

Just replaced it. You can drill a hole at the end of the crack if you catch it early enough to stop it propagating.
