Chaps,

First and foremost happy new year!!!, sitting here with the first of several lots of beers checking out all your posts. Now, I need your help, hope you can help me.

I have only had my LCR for a few weeks now but I think the last bloke that had it has done something to the front lights :(

This has happened a couple of times now, when I drive at night with my normal lights on (dipped beam) people either driving in front or the other direction I get them flashing at me or putting on their rear fog lamps.

Like the other night I was driving down a country lane, single line traffic, when I approached a car in front he put on his rear fog lights and dropped his speed to 20MPH, this done my head in which begged the question WHATS WRONG??, so I switched off my my main (dipped) beam and drove with just side lights on, thats when the car in front turned off the fogs and carried on as normal.

Whats is wrong with the lamps???, I have looked and they look fine, my main beam is never on, my lower fogs are off, its all normal. NOW, I have to drive with the dipped beam with the beam adjustment set to III at the dash, ok so far but this is not right, has this ever happened to any of you lot?
Any help apprecitated.

Might go to the local nik and find out what they think...

they could be out of alignment from a bulb change mate, something as simple as that. He could have also turned his lights up so that at their lowest they are around normal, which is wrong, they shoulf be at normal level when at their highest setting to allow for a carload which can then be turned down. get them to an mot bloke and get them adjusted.

cheers mate, i have tried something like that. I cant see anything obvious, I think a trip to me local greasy monkies is the best bet.. poor car... lol :D

I've had my LCR for 4 weeks and have had the same thing. I'm getting flashed by oncoming traffic. It's not because the bulbs are too bright cos I think they are worse than my old LC. Think I'll get a mate of mine who is a mechanic to take a look.

:funk: Yep i had the same problem with mind to while driving home from picking it up. I went to my local seat and they did it they and then for free

when people change bulbs the dont always get them to sit flush in the lense, hard to check without removing the headlight on the lcr's though

Now m8 i had the same problem when mine was new you can semi set them up using an allen key and your garage door. At dusk point the car at the garage door with the dipped beam on the car needs to be 5ft away roughtly and make sure they are both level with each other and you will get an idea how much out of line they are then using the allen key in the white screw like bobbin on top of the light unit turn (not sure which way) until they slightly point down from the front of the car onto the door. But be warned the std lights arnt much cop mate am looking at a HID conversion personally.

Hope this helps[B)]

to be honest i don't they just told me they were way out of line and that its all sorted for me.

I have to admit that I've noticed more and more people driving around either with their lights on full beam or with one light badly adjusted so they're constantly blinding people.

I would say a good 10% (minimum) of drivers on the road in London have badly adjusted lights. Makes you wonder how many of them actually get their cars MOT'd

It seems to be the same everywhere mate.
When i got my car the lights were out of alignment and this was straight from the factory and PDI checked (allegedly) but they put them right for me and i get no complaints, even with HID kit fitted.
Worth checking you don't have 100w bulbs fitted too as i have heard they can melt/warp the plastic.
