Fuel cap stuck

Hi all,

can anyone advise me regarding my fuel cap...it wont open when i press the interior fuel button...i can here something moving but it just stays closed
got the right hump in the pi**ing rain the other night whilst at the garage

having the same prob with mine @ the mo... have tried spraying the latch with WD40 but no difference. Luckily had a m8 with me when i filled up last time... he pressed the button while i... err... helped the flap to open....

will be sorting it out this weekend. I reckon the solenoid is getting a bit weak or has come loose somehow.

yer the solenoid has gone locate the white string behind the trim on the rh side in the boot and pull it , youll need a new solenoid

I had to ask some weirdo in the garage to come and pull my flap open

LOL... and I thought it was just me who seemed to get the weirdo's.....

BTW.... MK1 leon's don't have a manual release in the boot, would be good if they did

mine doesn't have one... and a m8's LCR doesn't either... can't see one shown on the VAG schematic... hmmm... strange, maybe post facelift addition.

The solenoid is about £15 from what i have read on here.
