Hi have a dickie duel guage problem - i replaced the sender unit to tank but no joy. Guage reads 3/4 full but the low fuel light is coming on! Also to the fuel guade goes to full when you switch the ignition off rather than empty?

any ideas or suggestions as to what i can check and or replace?

regards Fraz

hi nathwarr - prob was before and after replacing the sender - however the fuel guage did used to drop back to empty before i replaced the sensor ( i think but not 100%). How do i check the polarity mate? as you can prob tell i'm not very technical!

does anyone have a wiring diagram for the fuel guage in the dash pod or a list of things i should check before shelling out £500+ a new dash console - unbelievable you can't buy just the guage - what a stitch up!

thanks for any help in advance

I had a problem with mine where sometimes it wouldn't move from empty despite being full. The dealers replaced the sender unit but that didn't fix it. They then kept it for three days and finally found a bad connection in the footwell area and replaced some wiring, which solved the probem.

It has been behaving a bit erratically recently, though and sometimes I have more fuel in the tank on the return journey than I did on the way out. Also I was sitting in traffic the other day with nearly half a tank of fuel and the low fuel warning buzzer sounded, scaring the life out of me. I hope it is not the problem coming back as the car is out of warranty now.:(
