guys, i was driving home today and all of a sudden hear a bang and the car lost all power. pulled into a nearby street and got out of the car to realise petrol was leaking from under the car. had a look and the pipe from the tank to the filter and come off. tried to reconnect it but it wouldnt work.
rang rac who eventually came out and cable tied the hose as a temp fix and followed me to my dads who will have a look and fix the problem. rac guy mentioned the connector type plug had broken off and the pipe needs replacing.

he advised to change the pipe after every fuel filter change to stop this happening again.

just thought i'd mention it to stop it from happening to you, my story could have been a lot worse if the dual carraigeway i was on was busy. it would have been a serious incident.

Good old RAC eh. those pipes are meant to last the life of the car and when the filter is replaced properly and carefully you should have no problems.
