Fuel Pump differences

Trying to clarify the differences in fuel pumps after lots of reading

Cut a long story short think i have a tired failing fuel pump and looking to uprade whilst in the process of replacing.

Is there any difference between the cupra and cupra r fuel pump? or would i need one out an s3?

Would i see any difference by just upgrading the fuel pump performace wise?

1st of all replace the petrol filter and see if it helps Could be clogged...

For engine codes AUQ AMK BAM you need the S3 fuel pump, part number: 8L0919051H

Will the s3 4bar pump be compatible with the oem cupra injectors?

Will it make much of a difference in your opinion?

Not if you still have the 3 bar FPR

Stock pump is rated to 5 bar iirc, so 3bar fpr plus what boost you are running, a 4 bar pump won't cut the mustard.

hmm, so the stock cupra pump is good for 5 bar? & the s3 only 4 bar?


Going to try a new fuel filter 1st for the cost of a filter its worth a try....

I do have very leaky injectors atm so whether thats causing a mist under boost and upsetting the fueling?? & had a couple of failed starts due to pump not kicking in.

Had no problems with the pump starting since tho, very weird

I got some seals from bill so ill try a new fuel filter, seals, relay this weekend see if it seems any better
