Which do you recommend?
Whats the proccess of upgrading to 0516?
You send your unit off to them for 516. You might find free option for 0479 on the Leon3 software thread. I burnt my fingers of giving advise to someone on the wrong train as to what they could do since they were never suppose to be on that that train (They never said so).... was a Spanish hack they had.

YXXX.... Y is the train. You can jump trains via special methods but not recommended. So the guy wanted to upgrade on the train they were not suppose to be on, then had done an update and it didn't work.

The moral is stay on the train or take a one way ticket by using a specialist retrofitter. 516 is likely to be the last version of the mib2 standard software. The high mib2 units are more forgiving to changing trains.

Some programming is required. It's in the realms of retrofitters changing mib2 standard trains, they pick the code up from elsewhere to change trains or the people that write it. There was a translated how to do it on the Leon 3 software thread. Think they were using Python as I recall. There is a band of not for profit guys that write this code and a band of people that nick their code for profit and others that sell it on. Depends whether the not for profit guys can write universal code that can be used by the average guy. The Spanish upgrade was but had limited applicability. I've seen a Polish guy giving out free train upgrades on a Skoda board.

Mib2 high is more resilient so there is code available from them that gets you onto the last release 1447 AIO with bells and whistles (AIO = all in one) from whatever train. Mib2 standard it's moving memory around between banks. The updates left out the car image for some since they are only suppose to be used for the period the train existed, not history going back. Seems to be a complaint with the 1447 if you jump too far forward. They have issues with their ambient themed colours if they didnt have ambient lights in the first place.

In the realms of software development VAG put to bed each train with any fixes at the end of the train, they come back and fix. You are not suppose to jump trains. Mib2 standard has about four trains, 2,3,4 and 5. Probably a train for each years existence. Tiles came into this which is why some people want to jump trains.

Internal material of Seat. They get it on their internal systems. Suppose to be on chargeable Erwin but I've never looked. Android Auto / Car Play issues tend to be sorted out on the latter releases of each standard train. So if you have those they may be fixed in a later release.

Hello, I want to update my Ibiza 2018 software and my OBDEleven says there's a new software version and it's 0498. I'm on 0472 version and I have the 0479 files (didn't update yet) but I've search for the 0498 files and didn't found any info about it.

Is the 0498 available? Does someone updated to that version or is safest to update to 0479 only?

Sorry for too much questions but I've never updated a car and I don't want to f***k it up 😅

Re-reading the thread on a year past, it's come to pass that the Obdeleven screen that tells you, you have not got the latest copy of the software may just mean you haven't got the latest copy of a hacked one. In this case 0498 being a hack. It happened with the mib2 high 1447 software where there isn't an official release above.

The SLA1 signature check locked down the content of all above from user modification. That was the idea but a useful frig was found where using a POI syntax upload you could upload into the unit without the signature check of everything after the POI signature check although those metacheck tests need to be 're computed so it isn't without work. It's how the mib2 standard and high toolboxes get loaded into the green menu which then use other backdoor techniques to write FeCs.

The technique is being used on the "all in one" (AIO) Mib2 high software across the brands but they keep the release code except in one incident someone didn't. This caused people to start looking for an unofficial release since the signature had been bypassed.

You can check these releases by scrolling down the metainfo2 files looking for the signature and the presence of anything below. If you find code below the signature it's a modified release where they have used the technique to slip under the signature check riding on the back of the POI upload... you don't save anything you look at in these checks since if it's an original, you may enter a character which will mess up the signature check of what is infront of that. That's why it's signed. So you park the file and look at a copy of it if you want to inspect what's in it.

hi :)
can anyone upload it again please?
The main software thread is here.

There is a group of European hobbyists which keep a library of firmware. User name and password guest in both instances.

The mib2 standard ones lurk down here:

Although you might need a "librarian" to point you in the right direction if it's not there. Not sure about 515 skin colours you see.

Mib2 high are here for completeness:

Takes an effort to navigate around which covers the whole gambit of brands firmware which they have catalogued. Covers the official releases and home brew. Probably best on that thread to take up the conversation. The high AIO ones appear on that list and others for other brands. The mib2 standard ones which have a few letters attached after the names may be specials. They can be checked out by looking at the signatures that no code is placed after the signature to see whether official or home brew.

You have to be careful on not leaping mib2 code trains YXXX to ZXXX. There are mods around where people have done it but then when they try to upgrade again on the ZXXX train they mess the unit up since they should never have been on it to do the upgrade within the train. e.g.. once on a modified mib2 standard train you have to stay on the train with a mod. As pointed out on this thread the mib2 standard trains reflects the units hardware. So best not to jump trains and to be really sure you are on an official release before any update on a mib2 standard. Mib2 high is more accommodating to jumping mib2 trains. Evidence of that on the thread.

Hi guys,

Would someone be kind enough please to provide the full link activation for my friend who bought a SEAT Ibiza 11/2017 facelift.

The software version is MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0468T (0468)

Planning to use SD card, every advice appreciated, thanks in advance!

You are better off posting your question on the main Leon 3 software thread I linked to above. The experience on the mib2 standard activation isn't as great as the mib2 high. There are tool kits for both. Mr Fixit does videos then people get into trouble with them since the mib2 standard tool kit has applicability to specific firmware. If it was a mib2 high you just change the firmware to 1447AIO, standard you can't and you can't jump trains. 4* is one train. Don't reckon their is too much body of knowledge on the board on this one, but I may be wrong.
