Just wondered if anyone has had the SDS (Speech Dialogue System) activated for their RNS-E nav system?

I have just booked mine in to have the work carried out as it gives full voice control to the radio, media player and satnav on top of the voice control already activated for the Bluetooth.

If anyone has had the work carried out, be interested to hear what you think.

are yo sure this can be done??? whos doing yours? the dealer?? all the info on the net says older rnse units can be one but you have to rewire the bluetooth mic so you run an extra loom into the back of the rnse unit... however all the info states if you are running software 200 or 220 which we will be as we have a RNSE led, then the firmware of the rnse doesnt support sds so even if you rewire the mic its no good.

if you can get it done by the dealer then im very interesed... but i suspect you cant

Hi Karl. The work is being carried out by HazzyDayz Ltd who are based just off J9 of the M1.

The SW of my unit is currently 0200 and will be the same after the SDS activation. With regards to the mic, they use the same microphone that is fitted for the Bluetooth and simply add a plug and play loom so the original vehicle wiring is not disturbed.

The work is being done on the 18th March so will post my thoughts once finished and had chance to play.

Ahh seen them mentioned, there is a guide to make up the same loom as they fit for about £6...it will be interesting to see if it will work, but I also fancy the software update on my rnse as there's 220 now... So if they have hacked 200 updating will wipe out their hack..
