a few days ago my car start holding back when trying to go over 3000 RPM and sometimes it just looses power (even below 3000 RPM) for about a seconds and then continues normally. this "holding back" happens after about 10 minutes of driving (i noticed it happens when the car heat is about 90 degrees (C) ) , one time I continued driving it after it happened and the engine light came on, the light went off the day after. no other warning light is on. at that point i thought a coil might be dead but when tested with VAG-COM it reported back an error code for the G28 engine speed sensor (some may know this as the crank shaft sensor).

when I let the car cool down and then start it again the problem goes away and I can drive it smoothly even about 3000 RPM.

I searched for that part and found it as the "CS1409 Crankshaft Sensor" , can anyone confirm this ? do you think this will solve the problem ?

also can someone tell me if this is easy to replace ? i have the right tools i just don't know where the sensor is located on the engine - my car is a 2005 MK4 1.4L petrol - pics would be much appreciated !!!
