Gear stick gator splitting

So i was cleaning my car the other day and noticed that there were 3 small splits in my gator for my gear stick. These are the small splits

So on my way back from work today i popped in to see if i cna get it changed under warranty, and they simply said yeah, then booked me in for friday.

I also asked if they could switch off the cornering fog lights, and they said yes which i was happy about, but then they shocked me by saying it would cost £10 to turn them off.
£10 to untick a bloody box!!

Is anyone able to do this for me?

i wouldnt expect the gator to have splits after only a year :/ cheap material lol
The bloke had one look and said yes we will change it so easy lol

My gaiter had exactly the same splits after a year. Was replaced under warranty and the new gaiter material seems to be better quality.

Mines fine, and I've got one of the oldest new Ibizas on here (oct 08).... unless the previous owner had it replaced.

I've got a fairly big one in the crease of mine, wasn't really bothered by it though.

think the dsg one should last a lot longer as you wont be changing gear so much

yeah well i thought i would rather get it changed whilst its under warranty it is free

I think there may just of been a period of crap quality ones being fitted that split easy but im not sure

I notice mine was splitting like 4 months ago, went to my dealer and asked to check it see under warranty but didn't really contact me back.... Defo get done when i get my 20K service done!

Yeah I know but I really want them off and no one can do them for me so I'm gonna have to pay

Yeah because on a one year old car I wouldn't expect the gator to ve splitting lol.
My dealer seems quite good tho tbh

Mine's not even 2, wonder would they replace mine? Might give that a shot. I want a facelift gearknob like the one that was in my silver mk5
