i popped in to see if i cna get it changed under warranty, and they simply said yeah, then booked me in for friday.

This is the part that made me laugh out of it all. Ive just changed my gear knob and if i wanted to the gaitor once i knew how to remove it, it took all of a minute. WHY would they have to book you in, surely its a five min job off then on, then on ya way.

DAFT DEALERS !!

When i came to get mine checked out they said its under warranty and would need to order the gaitor in, so they told me to call them to check when it's in but when i called the gaitor was on back order so i had to wait a week to get it replaced and it was done in 5mins. ovbs would take at least a day or 2 to get the part in.

Its a none stock item, so they had to order it in,
they ordered one, but then realised it was wrong so i had wait longer lmao

Yet another thing I had to get fixed was the clips on the parcel shelf. The ones that act on the pivots. One had broken then the other broke as I shut it.
They originally said the parcel shelf wasn't covered under warranty, but the clips are.
All done in 20 mins no hassle or fuss.

On another note, apparently the best selling colour is magico black with 33.1% then white with 19.2%

i know, it is in the booklet for the ibiza that did 100,000km.
THen they completely stripped it down to every single component.
There was an interesting bit in about how to solve rattling and creaking door handles.

That one looks much better!! The one I have in mine looks cheap n nasty in my opinion :( will say to my dealer when its in getting serviced this month. Maybe treat myself to a Seat Sport gearknob too :D

put mine in today for the gator to be renewed, looking at tuesday as they will have to order it,the guy said that he cannot guarntee the same cos seat have changed the materials used, can any of you guys who have had it renewed explain what the difference is ??????

Sorry to jump-start an old thread, but my car was in my local dealer's on Friday for it's 20K service and I asked about the gearstick gaiter as the one in my car had started to split in the same way as the ones above. Got told this wasn't covered under warranty replacement and the failure was down to fair wear and tear!!!!! WTF????!!! I argued with the service manager for all of 10mins and he basically said he agreed with what I said, but Seat would not replace it FOC.

The gaiter should last for the life of the car, not under 2 years! Obviously poor quality and not fit for the purpose it was designed for.

I will be phoning Seat on Monday! [:@]
