I know there are a few threads on here regarding lpg conversions so i thought i would let you all know my experiences from start to finish!
After trawling the internet for months, speaking to loads of people inn the trade etc etc I have decided to go get the conversion done. I'm doing 17 to 20k a year and it makes sense.
Firstly beware beware beware... if is seems much cheaper than everyone else then it is proberly a low grade conversion and it will cost you in the long run! The company i decided on in the end is BRITISH LPG. The web site was very informative and the staff are extremely knowledgable and not pushy at all. they provide three levels of conversion basic , gold and platnium i think they call them. I opted for the middle one which comes out at less than £1500 all inclusive. They really knwo thier stuff and have been in business a good while, all approved and known by my insurance company who said, 'oh yes, we know them. No problems.'
As soon as the car is done i will report back on service and 'finish' etc. I could bauble on about lots of info but best to go to their web site if you want to look. I mentioned being a member here so who knows may be able to get a club disc?
Anyway i'll be back in a week to report!

p.s the newer gen 4 systems don't kill your engine, drop your fuel economy by 20%, make you lose loads of power etc etc...!

Well the car went to be converted today and the people who were doing it seemed very knowledgeable and had just recently done another leon. Several other cars there being done - jag, merc, Audi TT etc and so got to have a look at what had been done to them. They read the engine codes while i was there and showed me the print out... Seems one of my lambada sensors is faulty, but nice to know. So we will see how it goes when i pick it up on sat.

Sorry for delay....
Been using the car for about a month now and very very pleased!
Fuel economy has been a little better than with petrol mpg wise and obviously paying just 48p a litre has made a massive difference. Performance wise, it seems about the same up to about 40, then it actually seems to be alittle bit quicker!
No problems, runs like a dream.
Fitter report - Service was excellent. Attitude was excellent. Knowledge was excellent. Quality of finish was excellent!

Some photos at the following address. These show various parts and finishes of the install.
If you want any more details please ask and i'll try and help. Also if you decide to go ahead and get this done just mention me (Toby) and the yellow seat leon. They have promised to do a good deal for anyone on here. I went for the middle package.

sorry but i dont really get it, So do u not use petrol at all any more, I belived that you could switch between both LPG and petrol. I was looking into this but was not sure how the car would run as if it made it slower i was not going to get it done. Also dose your CO2 come down so you car tax should also come down?

Once converted the car becomes duel fuel. You have aswitch which means you can change to petrol if you want to. Also the cars runs for first few mins on petrol due to the much higher burn temperature that is needed for lpg. This also stops any fuel in the petrol tank sitting there for years and going off, not to mention keeping the petrol side of things in working order and not fouling up.
The older systems weren't as good as the latest ones which as well as having thier own ECU also piggy back off the cars normal one so all information that is available to the petrol set up is also there for the lpg computer to use, hence the much better performance etc than the old systems.
Worth checking out some of the lpg sites online for more info. I had mine done by British lpg. think i added the details to the beginning of this thread?

Over all i def recommend it, especially as it also results in let engine where due to lower contamination level of the oil and also less emmissions ( less tax! emmission zone charging excempt! etc)

Seems one of my lambada sensors is faulty, but nice to know. So we will see how it goes when i pick it up on sat.

Lambada sensors!? Do you mean sensors that check for any passengers performing brazillian dance moves? Or sensors that automatically switch the stereo off if "Lambada" by Kaoma comes on the radio? Either way, I need to get me some of those!
