Glow Plug Light Flashing

This is a bit of a long story, I bought a 2016 Leon 2.0TDI DSG about a month ago. When I purchased the car, it didn't have a spare key so the dealer arranged for AA Key Assist to come out and sort out providing and coding a 2nd key.

The AA chap comes round and begins the process which takes a bit longer than he would usually expect because it wasn't straight forward (he didn't elaborate). He ended up spending 2 hours sat on the drive trying to get rid of a flashing glow plug light that presumably has appeared because of something he did or something he triggered in the process of pairing the key. Advice as to what's more likely would be welcome :)

He couldn't sort it out and said it could well clear itself after being driven. Driving the car over the weekend (over 100 miles) didn't clear it so he arranged for a Seat specialist to come out and have a look at it.

The Seat specialist comes and plugs into the car and tries every trick in his book to try and find out the issue and clear it, but after well over an hour, he has no luck so arranges for the car to be taken to a Seat dealership.

The dealership has spent over 2 hours running diagnostics and trying to get to the bottom of the problem and sort it out but they have had zero luck. They're getting in touch with Seat themselves later today to find out if they can shed any light on the situation.

Long shot I know, but has anyone had this issue or similar?

I've been googling this endlessly. Trying to find any shred of information I can, but aside from the usual glow plug issues, I've not found anything.

It's worth noting, the light constantly flashes while the car is on, but the car drives like normal. It hasn't gone into limp mode and doesn't have any issues starting or running or anything like that. The only difference is certain electrical components aren't working like the on-touch windows, cruise control, sport mode, etc...

From my previous VW cars then this is a generic fault state indicator, which could be anything from the brake light switch to the MAF being faulty. The relevant fault code should, in theory, be stored in be ECU.

I'd be more concerned about other components not working, that does not sound right - but this is all due to the dealership, so you could still reject the car.

There are a mass of such threads across the VW and Audi boards, search Google for 'vw flashing glow plug light' - there's no one solution, probaby hundreds.

Yeah, it's not looking that promising at the moment. It's been with Seat since Monday and they still can't seem to get to the bottom of it.

So annoying, barely had the car a month. It's my first Seat and I was so looking forward to getting it and now it's just one of those situations where it's kind of ruined the excitement of getting the car
