error codes are very easy to remove, u can get a cheap vag code reader from ebay, mine was under £20 and reads codes and can delete them, garage wanted more than that just to plug in thiers and to change a glow plug is a very easy job, it must be if i can do it,

had this a couple of months ago one plug had gone and the harness rubber was crumbling ended up changing all 4 plugs and the harness (harness was a bit of a pain due to being taped up) took around 6 hours taking me time.
