The F1s are a great tyre with superb rolling characteristics and excellent grip - but you never get anything for free! I've fitted them to my TT and they are very good, but they are wearing quickly. I had a similar experience with Pirelli P Zeros that didn't last from one MOT to the next - only 12k miles compared with a good 20k miles I got out of the Yokohamas I'd had on previously.

The F1s seem to be lasting better than those, but again I don't think I will get as much milage out of them as I did with the Yokohamas or the original Michelin Pilot Sports. Obviously the tyres will perform differently on the front wheel drive Cupras than they do on my TT so it's difficult to make direct comparisons but after experimenting with the whole range of tyres that are regularly recommended for my car I think I'd settle on the Michelins as the best option - not surprisingly the tyres originally fitted by Audi. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't they also the standard tyre for the Leon Cupra?

From my experience I guess the answer is that the manufacturers know what they are talking about when they spec a tyre for their cars, so if you can afford them maybe you are best sticking with what Seat originally fit. It may cost that little bit more on initial outlay but work out cheaper in the long run.

That said, I'm sure you won't be disappointed with the F1s - they're great around those corners!

the OE Pirelli tyres were very poor considering the LC`s power. the F1`s seem to give the car a huge boost in handling and work solidly in the wet.

mines about to get new shoes so its same again for me. 22k off this set which i cant grumble about. still seem strong.
