M3 CS definitely. I'd have one on my drive today given half the chance as I don't thinks there is a bo that car doesn't tick. You just have to accept you're now a BMW driver

If you get in an S3 or an R32 you'll have a newer dashboard to look at (which is nice and all), but TBH they aren't night and day away from the LCR, and they actually feel a bit lazy if your LCR is modded.

Probably the dealer not wanting to lose a sale then if it's not available from all Vaux dealers! :)

Heh yea probably, I imagine it's making any remaining new non-charged ones hard to shift.

You can get the same kit fitted as the 500 for a few grand.

Might as well just buy a 20 something grand 2nd hand VXR and get it charged yourself.

Trouble is, in the daft, mixed up an confused world that is insurance... it would probably work out cheaper to insure a factory fitted one than do it yourself!

Well not sure if this helps but i was in a similar (but less expensive) quandry in October last year and i eventually went for the Focus ST....

Admittedly i had a LC not LCR

M3's are apparently ridiculously expensive to service, talk of £1000 for a major service (no idea how true this is)
Civic Type R's you have to rev the tits off them, not for me.
Astra VXR's have too much criticism for the torque steer for my liking.
New Leon Cupra's the shape's grown on me slightly but it just doesn't do it for me like the old one did
Golf GTI's are nice but lets be honest you're paying a premium for almost the same car as the Leon
S3's again nice but you're paying nearly 30k for a hot hatch. no thanks

So that left me with one contender really the ST. I managed to find a 4 month old ST3 with Sat nav and all the trimmings and love it to bits...

DOWNSIDES.

Because it's better insulated it doesn't feel as quick as my old chipped Leon Cupra and you have to keep the rev's a bit higher as the torque from the old Leon was from pretty much from idle. Nothing a dash of bluefin won't fix though. Plus fuel economy is crap, i usually see about 20 - 22mpg.

The engine note more than makes up for it though.
just my 2p's worth in case it helps.

I don't know how the insurance would work on the 500 anyway as I don't think it's all specific to the one dealer and is just sanctioned by Vauxhaull and hence covered under warranty?
