Well done m8, glad you got back to Greece ok.

Just done Glasgow to the tip of Cornwall and back :) Car performed brilliantly and overtaking was effortless. Had a little escort from another dark grey Leon mk2 on the M5/M6, hi if its one of you guys. car is filthy, much dirtier then the car in the filthy thread lol :p

Cupra2007,

Interesting photo's (especially the last one!) and what a fantastic adventure!

I am no longer a Seat owner, but my hubby has on order for delivery in March, a Audi Q7 3.0 TDi S-line which we want to use on a grand scale. We had a BMW X5 before and considered driving to Cyprus (we never did!) which I understand is not too far from Greece. Once in Cyprus we were anticipating staying for approximately 1 month. I am quite conversant with Cyprus having had many holidays there.

I have a few questions -;
(1) how did you navigate to the UK? As I understand that some countries are not covered by the satellite navigation systems we have in the UK.
(2) Where did you collate the information on your route in respect of border controls, Ferries, accomodation, currency etc.

Lastly, :cheeky::redface:if you do not mind me asking!!! what was the approximate expense in travelling costs for your adventure?

Regards

Tracy

1)i used a friends mio p550.its a pda so a pure gps would have been a better choice!sometime inside big cities it wouldn't easily find points of interest,and the first 5 minutes on move it could get a bit confused!all in all it did the job allright!the maps were downloaded from the internet,destinator 6 but if you want to put greek maps and cyprus maps in you need a pure gps!2)the currency is not a problem because cyprus is using euros from now on and so are all the countries you are going to pass through.www.viamichelin.com is the best for travel info!to be continued...

now about the costs you need 100euros average for food,100e for the hotels so for 14days that is 2800euros allready!the tickets from rhodes to pireaus and from patra to ancona and back is about 1200euros!you will also need about 300euros for the 2way trip of the p-o ferries from calais to dover! the petrol and tolls from ancona to london(not straight away though,i did almost 5000km in europe) and back was almost 1000euros!add 500euros for safety reasons and you have 5600euros so far:-o:-o!you must check for ferries from pireaus to limassol-cyprus( if they exist!?! )and their prices.if you want to buy also basic thinks like presents for friends,souvenirs,or just upgrade your food or hotel rates(one night we ate at jamies ''15'' and we paid 210euros so our average was f'''ed:D:cry::D!!!)you must look at 8000euros at least...its worth it though believe me....:)offcourse if both of you drive you can easily go from london to ancona in one shot,(about16 hours drive,remember i did alone,wife not good driver,paris-ancona 12 hours quite easily) and thus save alot of money,also in cyprus you can rent an appartment if you are going there for 1 month!!!
