IMO, no. My previous cupra came with one when I first had it. Performance was noticable better with standard airbox in. (cold air feed was used as well). Sounded nice though

But these filters are going to be drawing in the warm air from inside the engine bay.
You will be better off getting the piping to put the filter towards the bottom front of the car to suck up cool air rather than from the engine bay.

Any water will go straight up the intake pipe and into the filter. Also the air will be very turbulent, there. Best to place it where the air will be less turbulent.

ok, it seemd alot more responsive whilst on the move there tho! not sure weather i like the sound of water tho lol! surely if its in the wing there is more chance of "crap" flying through the pipe ??

i have got my induction kit in the front wing and it fine! i havent had any trouble! i cant see how water could really get to the filter when its behind the inner arch liner?

i kno, iv had my cold air intake pipe running behind the front grill and it seems one hell of alot more responsive than in the arch, dont kno wether its gunna do any damge? hope not! cant see the water getting in though if thats the problem cuz it would have to travel up the pipe and then come out the end and get through the filter!
