grinding from steering rack

can anyone help with this problem please. when i turn you can hear a small grinding noise. power steering fluid and pump is fine. im not sure what it is. is there any chance it could be the bearings on the the top the strut from where ive done the lowering springs? thanks

Did you have any joy? My Vario is making a very slight noise when I turn left??

Could be the bearings in the steering column, my 1.4 did it occasionally was like a small grinding/squeaky noise. Its still soldiering on 40k later

Cheers Paul - it doesnt happen all the time so I guess coilovers are more important lol

Was the strut bearings. Only cost a few quid each from euro car parts

Couldn't see them on the website so i phoned up for a price. Asked for the strut top mounts and bearings. They gave me the wrong strut top mounts though so i only fitted the bearings and the problem was gone so took the top mounts back.
