Grr first problem :(

ABS Light has just appeared!

Did a quick search and it seems lowered cars like to chew through looms. There has been something catching at low speeds but due to the weather not had chance to get the car jacked up and have a proper look. Kind of regretting putting it off now, lol!

Hopefully getting the car car plugged into VagCom tomorrow so will post back with my findings :\

my ABS light has been coming on & offf this pass week but ant come on for a few days. it feels like something is chatch when i brake going down hill (evan when ABS light is off)

could be a failled MAF, or a failling ABS sensor

get it's fault codes read asap

my ABS light is on took it to get the code read and all it said was ABS to ECU error or something like that so will be interesting to find out what yours is, as i have got to book my car in and find the fault manually!! My car is very low so i may start with the loom !

ive got to be honest ive never heard of this fault, especially it being common. As mork suggested i'd read the codes first but my first guess would be ABS wheel sensor as that is more of a common fault

Update:

Left the car in the garage over night, just took it out for a quick spin and the light has gone!

It was parked in a car park for a few hours yesterday in the heavy rain we had. I wonder if this has something to do with it?

Well after a few days of it being fine..

Travelling to work this morning at stupid o'clock the ABS and Traction Control light appeared. I was supposed to meeting with someone last night to have the codes read, But i got called into work

if both lights came on i think it's the MAF

what if TCS & ABS come on, thats happend 2 time as well. took all my wheels off to wash them and washed brack calipers as well the other day. after i had done this the ABS like came on for 5 mins and whent off so mite be something to do with the water???

Isn't the TCS and ABS light the same light ? ?

Nope, they are two different lights.

The previouis owner replaced the MAF a week or so before i bought it. I've only had the car a couple of weeks.

Well the weather dried up here, and got 10 metres down the road from work and the light went off.

It seems when the fault happens i get the ABS and the Traction Control light, Once the car is turned off and back on again i just get the ABS Light.

It's raining again now, so if it happens again on the way to work i'm going to put it down to something getting wet. I'll have the wheels off and have a good look around on Monday!

sounds like abs sensors.

whip the discs off, whipe the sensors clean & refit discs

jetwash is 'ok' but not ideal since you run the risk of 'cleaning' all the grease out of the bearings

There seems to be alot of brake dust generated when i'm braking hard. it is on monster tarox brakes and grooved disks so what can i expect.

That can't be doing the sensors much good. I have a weird noise coming from front right when turning right and going over bumps so need to look into that anyway!
