Hi all..
took my car to western performance to a rolling road day for redline magazine, they have a dyno dynamics rr so thought id see how it goes...

Here are the graphs for bhp at fly, wheels, A/F ratio and boost....

I made 400bhp which i was dissapointed about but I thought it seems realistic.
My AIT's were hovering around 27degrees tho when on the rollers and we set the boost controller to 1.7bar with 50%duty.

I spoke to Owens today about either going for a 35R or modifying my gt30.. they have told me with my setup I should see 500hp (turbo maxxed out) and its down to my mapping... even at 1.7bar I should see more than 400hp and DD rr does read very low also!
Trying to get it back to JBS but they are getting building work done so not possible for a month or so :(

Any opinions and comments welcome!!!

Im not fussed what power it shows on roller but I do want to make sure its running what it should, if I can only make 400hp I should've got a smaller turbo and have much better driveability, especially considering i have a large port head, r32 tb etc i thought my car would be breathing good!

Yeah I think hooch ran 1.9bar, but it was on a different RR and it was calculated according to temps

I am considering going for the same one if I dont get much gains from this turbo.
Im not sure on the ignition parameters and im running siemens 630cc with 4bar FPR..

Im really thinking about going stand-alone now.

what comp wheel etc is on your gt30 as there seem to be so many variants around! my gt30 made 425bhp/330ftlbs peaking at 2 bar.

I had your turbo and then go it modified to the 3076. I run emerald management and on the 3071 I made just under 440 bhp at 1.75 bar using 4 bar fuel pressure and 630 cc injectors.

Got 750ccs now for the 3076 and as well as upgrading the turbo gone for the largeport SEM inlet manifold and 80mm throttle body so hoping for 500+ bhp.

I think my AIT's are going too high at high revs?? maybe my induction kit is too small? I had a hks mushroom, currently using a small k&n filter.. not much space.

4" intake with anti surge and 3" v-band Exhaust side..
What is the trim all about? excuse my ignorance!

20v polo, when does your 3076 hit full boost by (1.6+)?

Making 400hp from 300ish g/s of air is doing fairly well. Even if you af is scaled wrong and your engine is at 100%VE, you're moving no more than 310g/s at the power peak around 6700rpm, so if anyone claims you can make more at 1.7 bar at those revs, they are wrong.

There is 50 or so g/s left in the compresser whell on your turbo before you hit max flow, so turn the boost up. 30-32pound of boost should hget you there.

Otherwise get some wilder cams, and move your power peak higer in the rev range. More power for less boost.

28lb of boost at 7500rpm if you could move your power peak (improve engine VE over 6700) should get you to the max flow of the compresser which will give you 450ish hp on a DD

1bar by 3700rpm not too bad for that spec, full hit some 500rpm later..
crank it up and see what it has to give. watch that MAF does'nt hit its limit... it will flatline when logging when it does.

Im sure I could have much better spool up if the ECU didnt close my tb when I have it fullly pressed to the floor!! It's always 70-80% until about 5k on avcr then i get 100%.

A gt3071r will not do 500bhp without racefuel and lots of boost 2 bar+ I think i have stated this before.
A gt3076R can do 550bhp on pump gas with a 2bar boost on a very well set-up car.
Think i might take my 16g6 down to marlin just to prove it will do 420+bhp on there rollers!!

I run Forge's supersize DV recirc into turbo intake.. its venting just before t'body on my pipework. venting is venting, for the relatively small "puff" of vent it makes, wont make any measurable effect on ait's at all imho

i dont want woosh either hence using recirc

maf scaling is a lottery depending on how its been scaled. Its a 0-5v sensor ultimately. How close to 5v saturation is it?

I run dbw on my standalone (S60 DTA) but it is not commercially available to buy.
I had similar throttle opening not opening on mine when on me7.

Also noticed it was done in shootout 4f which reads slightly higher and also there is a fairly big correction for it vs at so might be reading a tad high!
Mine did 320atw recently on dd ,i see yours is 341.8atw which i'm sure will feel quick in a polo!!
Just so you know a gt3076 on pump fuel at 2 bar will achieve 380-440atw on a evo.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think 400bhp are not so bad for only 1.7bar boost with the GT3071.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

On the AEM gauge (WOT) I was seeing 14's - 3k, 13's - 4.5k, 12's - 5.5k, 10-11's 6k+.

Im guessing my gauge isnt reading correct..

When I reset my fault codes the car takes at least 20miles of driving until the fueling seems back to normal e.g 14's on idle/cruise (AEM readings)
While it seems to be working things out I get 10-12's as soon as I touch the pedal but the car actually feels better to drive low down whilst its learning.

Also could I have buggered my MAF? I actually struggled to get near 300g/s since relocating my air filter to the front with plenty of cold air and 3" piping all the way:confused:
On my last logs I got 300g/s easily in third and fourth gear!
Running same boost as previous logs.

Sorry forgot to mention I cant really turn the boost up anymore 1.75) without getting a maximum boost limit exceeded fault code and also twice I tried 1.9bar boost and the car switched off on me both times..
Is that a way of the ecu saving the engine?? Nearly killed me in the process!
