to what max boost then? seeing as you have got overboost faultcode ??

Why do think your AEM is wrong. With your GT30 you have enough of boost @ 6k, so it is necessary it runs rich. 10 is in my opion a little bit to rich @ all, but anything with a 11 in front seems not so bad.
Borrow another wideband sensor to check it.

I think if I set the avcr to boost over 1.8bar around 4.5k then I will definately get overboost fault code.
It was ment to be set to overboost to 1.9bar and hold 1.7.
But before I left they did tell me to keep an eye out for max boost exceeded fault code..
Still on 2.5bar map sensor, they didnt use my 3bar one.
The difference between requested boost and actual are way off... i think my map is purely from scaling the parameters and fooling the ecu?
for example @ 5k its requesting 1.4bar but im running 1.7, any more boost and fault code.
Just put in a new 02 sensor a couple of weeks ago so Im not sure which a/f reading is right, ecu, AEM and the Rolling road a/f are all totally different.

Did Autronic, Motec etc, have all the functions like A/C, ABS, ESC etc. ??
I can only say be happy with 400 horses. It isn't bad with a GT30 with small 71side.

For my spec I cant be happy with 400!
I spent money on a rmr mani, r32 tb, large port head, strengthend my box, the list goes on and the worst thing is ppl making more power than me with much less aftermarket parts!
I think the mistake i made was the turbo and its spec - too small a/r housing.
Im more than likely going for owens hybrid gt3076r like 20vpolo..
they say 550hp @1.8bar at the mo my turbo is like 420hp(max) @ 1.8bar!
So my turbo is gonna be up for sale if anyone is interested
It is going back this monday for re-mapping to still see if there is more to get out of it.

On that note about evo's, my mate just got one from ireland (fully built 500+ bhp), The alternator wasn't charging the battery so I went to look at his wiring...
The wiring seemed ok until I got to the fuse box..
80amp fuse between alternator power cable.. opened the fuse and the connections had been coiled round with wire
The previous owner either coudnt get the fuse or it kept blowing on him i assume..
So I checked the voltage with the car running...
@ alternator it was showing 16.5 volts ?!?
@ the fuse it was showing 16.5volts on 1 side of the fuse and 12V on the other side..
The connections were all corroded but I think that actually saved his ECU?
Isnt 16volts going to fry everything? His alarm, aerial and central locking all stopped working one by one..
Need to get the Alt out and get the Voltage regulator checked i think!

I'm with you. The only wrong part in your setup is the turbo !
But be carfully... In my opinion the GT3067 doesn't bring 550hp. !! The car in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2G37vU3jDwM has a GT35 and a 2Liter stroker. This was during mapping and the car has around 550 to 600 horses.
I think the 3067 will not be able to do more than 500hp. In USA 3067 have around 400-430hp with the crappy pump fuel in USA. So maybe if everything is perfect on your car and you maxed out the car with 100octane V-power you got 500hp. But only with a good piece of luck.
That's my opinion.

to get 500hp from a 1.8t with a power peak below 7500rpm, you need 34lb of boopst to get enough air into a 1781cc engine, assuming good density recovery and IAT of no more than 40C.
By then your timing will be so bad on pump fuel, you still won't make 500hp (on a DD or other believable dyno.
Now with 2000cc, you'd get away with 25lb boost. and then a 3076 might get to 500hp on pump

I have seen what 19psi produces already on the new setup and it was the same I made previously on 32psi - same dyno
flow is going pretty well thus far.

Bill. if you read my post, you will see I mention a rev limit. Before 7500, your car was making <450.
Also, you made more power than any FP green has ever made, anywhere in the world, no matter how generous the dyno lottery was feeling. Go figure.

it won't do it mate,speak to jabba they'll tell you.They've just done a TT with a large owens gt30 which made 460bhp i believe.Mine is based on a gt3076r which made 425bhp.Owens have got my turbo at the moment, getting a garrett comp cover with a 3" outlet fitted instead of the hybrid mitsi 2" outlet fitted at present.

and I am not quoting the JBS dyno btw as thats what you are assuming

I know a large Owens unit which is on a modifed jabba mani,(modified to add external wastegate) which on its 9krpm limit on full boost at 102octane fuel made 590bhp on Owen Developments rollers, which is pretty good going.
Runs on Motec ecu.

ANy which way bill it's all about revs, or VE at high revs. STR8s car is peaking around 7K, so he needs a **** load of boost to make 500hp at those revs on a 1.8

Thats a bit harsh I think.
It can be made to run, just not everyone seems as able to do it.
Standalone opens more doors for full and complete, uncompromised control.

Red was 500+bhp
Green was 480bhp odd max'd out
revs are the key for sustained torque @ rpms (equating to bhp)... only way its going to flow is to allow it to rev whilst boosting, OR for the school of thought that massive boost is the answer, try to shove it in, overspool the turbo in the process and cap the revs. Very limited actual powerband, just high figures but little spread.
Presumes the turbo can pump the flow @ those rpms obviously.
