GTi 16-Valve?

Hi, i have a weird question that has been bugging me. Is it possible that a 8-valve Gti engine can have its head converted by swapping it to that of a 16-valve? I just don't know

I doubt it, you would also need the ECU, and possibly the loom

Im sure i read somewere that you can (9A head and other bits?) but it lowers compression........suitable for forced induction

This sound familier to me to, only worth doing if your going the force feed the engine or it'll lower the compresssion ratio to much for NA use!

I understand that the block is interchangeable with 8v/16v heads

but it's just not worth the bother when complete engines are so cheap (and easier to swap)

the ABF block is the same as an 8v 2E engine, but its alot of hassle....

hmmmmmm, i' dont know if it's worth buying one because i'd have to import one because here there aren't any 16-valve engines for sale only 8v ones thats why
