Last night some idiot driver reversed into my Leon, don't know how fast or hard he hit it because I was inside a shop & just heard a bang.

Went outside & saw my bumper out of place & right headlight loose as hell. We exchanged details etc etc told him I will deal with him in the morning. Driver begged me not to go through insurance & agreed to pay for whatever damages has happened to the car.

Took my Leon to a friend who alligned most the bumper into place. Also there was a gap between the bonnet & right hand side wing panel, he sorted that out. Some plastic piece thats inside the engine area attached to top end of the bumper has snapped, but he said a glue job will make it good as new.

There's about 2/3 scratches on the front bumper thats gone through the paintwork onto the metal. How do I go about removing/covering the scratches. Will it need a detail job or can I buy something from dealers like a touch up paint kind of thing? I don't care about the cost because the other driver will be paying for it all.

Now it's the headlight. It's completely loose, wobbly I should say. My friend told me that a bracket has snapped from the headlight & will need a new bracket to hold it in place. Will that work? A new bracket?
I was thinking about buying a new headlight & slap it on since am not paying for it. But he told me a new bracket will do.
What I want to know is can a headlight bracket be replaced?

Just clayed & waxed the car 3 days before. Removing every little mark [:@]

What's best?? Replace the headlight or get a new bracket fit in.

I would agree about getting full quote for repair in a licensed body shop. It is possible to just replace bracket on headlight though the whole bumper needs removed to make sure the bracket underneat the light isn't damaged, if it is then the whole headlight needs replaced. There is only a kit available to replace the top bracket, Dave@Seres can help you out with it if needs be as he sorted mine

Bumper will need to be re-sprayed to get a decent finish as touch ups will be easy to spot.

As everyone else has mentioned, get a quote from a bodyshop. You can buy a kit which will fix the headlight bracket.

Got the bumper fully alligned can't even tell it was knocked out of place
Just pulled the headlight out. It has a crack & a hole in the back, meaning I will be getting a new headlight. Will upload pics of the hole & crack

Just needs a touch up or maybe a spray job on where the paint has come off. Will be taking it to a body shop to get a spray job done & get the bumper looked at in detail in case there may be something else as you all recommended (Thanks).

Before I spend anything on the car I will be getting money off the guy beforehand. Headlight from dealers/Halfords looking around £180-£200 & a decent spray job probably around £100's I guess. Looking about £350max for the whole repair.

Take it to a licensed body shop with the best reputation around and tell them to correct everything to perfect. Then charge the guy that and your expenses!

Have you considered that if there has been an impact heavy enough to knock everything out of alignment then any impact bars underneath the bumper may also be damaged and as such mean you will need bigger and more expensive repairs. I am not familiar with the design but I know I've seen cars before that look perfect outside but all the pieces below had crumpled on impact as intended.

I would have the bumper right off if you haven't already and inspect everything underneath for cracks, crumples and damage.
