hi all

was traveling to a show today when suddenly the oil light came on and beeped!!!!
only for a few seconds and went off.
i pulled into the hard sholder as soon as and popped the bonnet to check everything
the oil level was at half.
checked and started the car and everything seems fine.
nursed it to the neared petrol station i could find and fired in some castoral gtx.
but the car seems fine now
boosting ok and no wierd noises from it.
any one else had anything like this happen to them????
was it flashing cuase the oil was lowish???

the warning light comes on prompting you to open the bonnet....

then you open the bonnet & the light won't show for x100 miles

wots this to cool the engine down????
ive never had a seat
and last few cars have been jap n/a
so only getting used to it

yeah checked the oil and it was half
it hasnt came on since and boosting ok
so it must have been the pressure or something as oil was lowish.

dont ignor it only 2 weeks ago i made that mistake and it turned out i had to get a new oil pump it cost me £250 inc labour but i think this is cheap as i know a vw tech get it looked at as i was lucky i didnt kill the turbo, about £800 for a new one not including the labour.

!!!!!!!!!!!!
hmmmm
question is tho
the oil was at half right
and i got to the nearest petrol station and topped it up.
it seems to be driving fine now
and the light hasnt been back on.

do you guys know if skoda wud use the some software to read faults????
or wud i be best to leave it with seat???

mine done that 2 i was low on oil so i topped it up then the light went out for a while then flashed back on about a mile later the engine sounded like a diesel and i lost about half power, id get it checked to be on the safe side

personally I'd prob wait and see if it happens again..it was probably the low oil. but the sensible thing would be to get it checked..

if i went to the dealer everytime I had a bleep or warning I'd be skint lol

Yes skoda use the exact same hardware (Vag 5051's) to read fault codes etc, so they will be able to read your fault memory, measured values etc.

If you have contacts at skoda take it to them.

havnt got cantact at skoda but its the nearest sorta vag garage.
gonna take it easy but its due a service in all
