ha - come to where i live/drive and then try to say the same thing! I definately needed the booster :)

They weren't lying! Your either have strong signals in your area or your equipment's sensitivity is high.
 
I gonna get one cos my radio is okay, but as i drive up the m1 into derbyshire north bound (and south bound out of derbyshire is the opposite, funny that) just north of EMA, there is a weak spot as the RDS switches frequencies

Well - i drove down to rural cornwall on monday and was listening to the radio all the way, no problems in holding onto a signal. Bit different to what i was told - which was i would get NO SIGNAL, ONLY WHITE NOISE (quote!). I live in a low lying area at the moment - an the car picks up kerrang better than my Kenwood stereo in the house!
