noticed today that when the engine is switched off that the hazard button, the light flickers alittle when i start it up doesnt, what can i do to fix it cheers
I've noticed this is happening on mine this evening after changing the standard headunit earlier today. Is the hazard switch easy to replace? I'm guessing I'll need to take the dash apart to get at it?
Hi, can anyone let me know how to change the front fascia bit of the hazard swith over???
I have read nearly every post on here to do with this switch, have got all my info sorted, understand that the VW is cheaper, and had step by step instrructions on how change it over - but no where have i sucessfully located any info about getting a new front to make the VW one into the seat one!!!!!
great cheers, so do i have to get a new front bit to make it look like the seat one? If so where do i get it from?
this will be the first thing i have ever fixed myself!! i took it to the garage last week as i could not get the bonnet open, i know really stupid girlie thing to do. But it had stuck - apprently siezed up. Anyways they charged me £20 for the prevelige so i am determined to get a bit more stuck in myself now!!!
sorry to be a pain - if i can PM you would that be better???
trying to locate this switch, happen to notice you are in Torquay, i work in Paignton, is there somewhere you would suggest i try as i have called Murrays VW garage (plymouth) they do not stock it, the only other VW garage is Murrys newton abbot although the chap said it may not be there either. Online i can only find it on US sites? any suggestions?
incidentally the part number that has been posted on this site (1J0953235J) has now changed, you will need to add 0IC on the end to find it!
will try and Ebay it. unfortunately cant access the bay at work - due to filter!!!! will have to find cyber cafe (live near dartmoor - no t'internet at home!!!!!)
AH HA - sorted!!!! called mann egerton (exeter) they have one in stock - £14.54 + VAT!!!!! BONUS
will be leaving work shortly to go up and collect it!!!
(thanks so much for help and looking on the bay for me! muchos appreciated.)
now only need to try and prize the damm thing out - took a variety of suggestions from the forum home last night, including removing blank and working along, poking at it through cup holder, but all to no avail!!!
have read something today about removing stero fascia - will be trying that this evening!!
okay - call me stupid, but i took the blank out last night, could not get the rear window heater one out without it looking perilously close to breaking - is there some kind of 'knack' to this - cos at the mo i aint getting it!!!!
