The hazard switch is a real weak spot - they are starting to fail more and more.

It's £35 to replace it from SEAT (1M0 941 509B). The VW version of the same part is £25, but you have to change the front button over. (1J0 953 235J)

Simon.

I've noticed this is happening on mine this evening after changing the standard headunit earlier today. Is the hazard switch easy to replace? I'm guessing I'll need to take the dash apart to get at it?

great cheers, so do i have to get a new front bit to make it look like the seat one? If so where do i get it from?

this will be the first thing i have ever fixed myself!! i took it to the garage last week as i could not get the bonnet open, i know really stupid girlie thing to do. But it had stuck - apprently siezed up. Anyways they charged me £20 for the prevelige so i am determined to get a bit more stuck in myself now!!!

thanks for your help!

sorry to be a pain - if i can PM you would that be better???

trying to locate this switch, happen to notice you are in Torquay, i work in Paignton, is there somewhere you would suggest i try as i have called Murrays VW garage (plymouth) they do not stock it, the only other VW garage is Murrys newton abbot although the chap said it may not be there either. Online i can only find it on US sites? any suggestions?

incidentally the part number that has been posted on this site (1J0953235J) has now changed, you will need to add 0IC on the end to find it!
