last piece of advice!!!
am now having BOYF problems! spent all day on this site yesterday looking at threads relating to indicator problems - appeears the most likely cause being this relay switch - however boyf is having none of it! (his car knowledge not much above mine!)

prob being: indicator ticks 2/3 times, then goes off, can be activated if 'stick' is wiggled, hazard have worked but now not! everything i have read on here points to it being relay switch, but he is convinced i am wrong and that it is a fuse! He is not keen on going to pick up this part as he thinks i am very wrong - i am more than happy to take advice from other Leon owners rather than my (dozy) boyf, but in the interest of fairness thought i would ask should i have checked anything else first???? :help:

if i replace the hazard, and it turns out to be the stalk i am guessing that i (due to the common fault) would have needed to replace the hazard at some point anyway?

if i then get a new stalk, i quite fancy one with cruise control - what else do i need to be able to get it to work? i have read about plugging it into a vagcom, but unsure as to what that entails and where i find one!

every change is an upgrade!!!! :D

finally went and got part - well stressful all the way to Exeter without the indicators :scary: (actually going round the mini roundabout proved all too much for some and i had to apologise profusely, repeatedly!!!!!!) anyway got part - the VW one, drove home.

went to put the new part in, well fiddly, got well stressed, nearly gave up!!!
anyway somehow managed to get the blank and the the next one along out (think its for the rear window!!)

then got stuck as when i pulled the hazard button, the front bit came off and the rest was stuck.

so............ went and gor the bits that take the stereo out, insterted them ......... and voila!!!! out she came!!!!

and i did it all by myself!!! :funk:
indicators are now functional and the other road users are now nice to me in the morning!!!!
