Headunit

Howdy all,
I just bought myself a happy Christmas to me from me present of an Alpine CDA-9855R.
However, I am unsure how to remove my standard Aura unit.
Can any1 help please?

There are 2 little slots at the bottom of the head unit which you have to poke something in to un-clip the unit. I used a bent up wire coat hanger.

Halfords sell the correct 'Euro' removal tools for a few quid. Good investment as it ensures you don't damage the dash fascia which is quite soft.

Halfrauds see them as Audi keys iirc, and i think they are auto leads items

Whist you're down at Halfords get yourself the facia adapter as well.

Can you change the illumination on your headunit?

As mentioned already I used a coat hanger before a kind guy on here sent me a spare set of headunit keys....

Metal coat hanger works perfectly though

Ye i can change the colour of the 4 menu buttons and the dislplay itself.

Ye cheers mate, i did get one and was also pleasently surprised that i didnt need to buy wiring kit 2!
