Heater and Volume buttons on centre screen (10 inch)

Anyone done a retrofit / mod to light up the heater / volume button below the 10" screen, I know the newer ones have backlight button and a larger screen, but on borrowing the better half's Leon, I find it annoying in the dark to fumble around, was thinking el-wire around them or something just to give a bit of a focus.

If not I will have a go and post results, just wondered if anyone had any thoughts / ideas.

I would imagine that it's unfortunately not as simple as just swapping it for the newer version.

Physically it might fit, electronically it might all plug in but the screen is a control module in its own right in the newer vehicles so there could be a software conflict, I've also seen some with component protection on them - that was a bit of a surprise.

I have heard the larger screens have a diff back end computer system and version so not possible to swap, and the buttons are tied into the display , so currently looking at an external light to make a glow / light just to show them either el-wire or something but trying to make it look neat, factory ish...

Knowing me and my timescales will get it done by the time the lighter days come
