Perfectly easy to heel n toe in an LCR. Your foot is on the clutch when you do it so you can brake and blip the accelerator at the same time. Try it stationary, clutch in, foot on the brake and catch the throttle with the outside of your foot, you'll see the revs rise.

As far as I know the power is only cut if the clutch is up.

You can't left foot brake as when you do this the clutch is up (cos you do it with your left foot like).

I would imagine the new Cupra would be exactly the same as it uses a fly by wire throttle.
 
I always thought that the 20vt being torque request, you would actually have to have some load on the engine to be able to do this effectively, ie revving the car while clutched in wouldnt be as smooth as on say, a 90's engine.
 
Usually the power will be cut off if you hit the brake (don't know after what time, the mentioned 2sec's?) for safety reasons. For example if something is blocking the throttle to move to the neutral position this is useful for everday use, of course not for racing...
