Help, anyone know what this is?

Hi all

I was reversing onto my drive today and when I parked up I spotted something sitting on the drive in front of the bonnet. I've got a feeling that it's dropped off the underside of the car but can't be sure.

Up until today and for the last 6 months I have been getting a vibrating noise under load which I thought was the heat shield rattling off the exhaust but when I checked that was secure. It's sounds like a drone/ rattle when you accelerate.

This noise has now gone and I'm wondering whether it has anything to so with this part?

The part is rubber and looks like a cylinder that has now split in two.

Any thoughts/ help on what it is would be appreciated. Pics below.

looks like front antiroll bar bush, im guessing if the rattling has stopped the whole bush clamping bracket has also departed.

hmm not so sure now looking back at your pictures, does look a bit like an exhaust rubber

Cheers guys for all the response. I'll try and get it up on a ramp to have a look around and ask a mate who is a mechanic what he thinks it is.

Looks like one of the pieces of sponge that's normally stuffed into the chassis to stop the fuel pipes moving about.
