On my way home this afternoon the LCR when into limp-home mode and the engine warning light started flashing on the dash. It sounds like its running on 3 cylinders.

From what i have read on here it sounds like a coil pack has gone.

Can someone confirm this?

Assuming this is the problem, I have also read that you can call out the AA (I am in Greenflag) and they normally carry spares?

And even better are they under a 5 year warranty, so i can get all 4 done?

I would normally do it myself but I am very busy and rather skint after XMAS.

My car is out of warranty as its just over 3 years old.

I called the local seat garage and its booked in for 8.30 tomorrow.

I asked him if coli packs were under a 5 year warranty and he was not sure. He said he would put it through on warranty and if the claim is refused by seat then I would have to pay. I don't fancy paying £34 plus fitting.

How can I make 100% certain the coil pack is covered?

Or would it be better to call Greenflag?

I had 2 coil packs replaced this morning. No wonder the car sounded like a tractor with 2 cylinders off. Luckily i only did about 4 miles in it.

I asked the technician what the code was on the plugs and it was a J. I think these are the old ones so I should not get charged???
