I've had my LCR a week now and when i bought it there's a nice receipt for a Revo Remap. The previous owner said it was mapped to 260bhp, which i thought was pretty good.

When i started driving it, i didn't think it felt much quicker than my vr6 which was my last car.

Anyway, i ordered a Forge diverter for it as the stock valve is meant to be pretty naff and booked it into Perfect Touch in Hoddesdon to have a run on the Dyno so i could find out what power it was making.

As i expected, the power is well down on what it should be, the car only making 220.9 bhp and 235 lbft torque instead of nearly 260 bhp and 300 lbft.

I have had two suggestions of what could be causing this loss in power, one is the Air flow meter, which may be faulty. I was told to disconnect it and drive the car to see if there was a difference. I have done this and it didn't feel any different :(

I also have found out that the stock intake pipe from the air filter to the turbo can collapse, causing restriction of airflow. Could this cause such a dramatic loss in power?

Please someone help me, i just hope my turbo isn't going to blow up!!

How do you turn it off and on??

The car is 210 standard as it's an early LCR, did they ever make more power than they should?

210 LCR's and 225 LCR's usually read similar.... it sounds to me like your REVO has been switched off... or your MAF has gone...

Find a local member with an SPS switch (1, 2 or 3) and they can switch it on... if car still feels crap, it may be your MAF, in which case, find another (or the same if they are helpful) local member, and swap the housings over, if it feels better, its your MAF (remember to give the other person their MAF back lol).

Vagcom is another option, as you can measure the air flow,...

Seeing your post count I am assuming you are fairly new to all this, so I apologise for the mass of suggestions... (I also apologise if you are well aware of the solutions and feel I am being patronising, not intentional, just trying to be helpful)...

Ok, i've ordered a new Air Flow meter, which i'll have on Thursday. I'll fit this anyway along with the forge valve and see if it makes any difference.

What's a SPS switch?? :s

Be worth you getting Vag Com as it's seriously useful and will save you money. Search for fault codes and if there are none then as said before it's likely that Revo has been switched off.

ok

Where do i get VAG Com from??

If i find the error code, how do i know what the code means?

If there is no error code, how do i then switch the REVO on??

Sorry for asking so many dumb questions, i'm blonde, which is my excuse!!

Ok, popped that in the VAG Com section, fingers crossed!!

^^^ Revo switch (SPS2)

Where are you based?

Peter

I haven't fitted it yet, i'm eagerly awaiting my parcel from Badger5 and will be fitting it straight away! I bought the valve to replace the stock one, which isn't very good anyway so i've been told by several people, including your good selves.

Hopefully Mike and i can get together and i can use his Revo Switch to "Turn my map on". Why it's turned off in the first place i'll never know :(

Fingers crossed.

I might be wrong, but i was under the impression that if the battery is disconnected at any point, then REVO map reverts to its stock settings. Requiring an SPS box to switch it back on.
