I'm not sure if this is the right area for this sort of question, but I need to found out if there is anywhere in the Kent area where I take my LC for a rolling road test as I'm sure that there are some problems that could be sorted. A friend has told me about a place called Sanspeed in Bexleyheath. Has anyone used them before and are they any good?

Thanks

Sanspeed can do it for you, but they quoted me nearly £100 for the job. I'm in the same boat as you, wanting to get mine RR'd, but looking for a RR day near-ish to be organised.

a few of us at the kent meets have been talking about sorting out a rolling road... sounds like a few others are interested too...

as with most organised events you get the odd one or two no shows... so if there's no problem i might see if we can organise one and include the briskoda boys n girls !!!

let us know !!!

I've found somewhere over the water in Essex. I've got my car booked in for a full diagnostic session. It called Engine Advantages LTD and the owners name is Paul Hill who himself owns a LCR. I asked him if he caters for clubs etc, and he said yes. Usually on a Sunday and costs £30 per car, minimum of 10 cars and maximum of 30 cars. Like I say I've booked in for the full works in a couple of weeks time so I'll be able to let you know what their like at the meet at the end of the month.

Here's the website if your interested in looking:

Have you had vag-com running to see if this flags the errors? Would have thought it'd be easier & cheaper to do this than an RR session...

I mean, all an RR is going to show you is that you're down on power - not what the problem is. Not sure, but with the problems you seem to be having I wouldnt want to risk damaging anything else?

If you want a RR then the best IMO is Power Engineering, some of the 20v lot on the forum are down there tomorrow in uxbridge.

Chris and Ian the dyno operators are excellent, you have to go just to see Chris Todds Mk1 Fiesta, its rear wheel drive, Turbo'ed and supercharged... oh an nos ;)

I have had over 4 years experiance with them with the FFOC (Ford Focus Owners Club), We can get a cheaper price the more that turn up , and free bacon butties as well. :)

It's £45 if we get more than 30 that does go down by a tenner.

Ron

Ps. will be down there tomorrow watching the event 9am on wards. I will be the one in the Grey TDi FR, With the private plate.

Well, had the RR session today and all is well. 180.9 BHP at the flywheel, 140 BHP at wheels, 203 lbs torque. Boost is peaking a little high early, but leveling off nicely. They are an APR dealer, and was trying to persuade me to have a remap. This would give me gains to 196 BHP at flywheel and 230 lbs torque with the standard exhaust.

Most of the thread I read say the REVO is the most popular one to go for, but has anyone had the APR remap, and why did they choose that over the other ones?

I'm very tempted though, just trying to warenty the cost against performance gains. The only thing that my sway me is the cruise control option the he can fit with the APR remap.

RR's are useless if all your wanting is a power reading. This can vary to 15bhp above or below what your cars making due to loads of factors, air temp/pressure, tyre temp/pressure, etc, and thats IF the place has calibrated there rr properly, most dont. Rr imo are only any good for mapping where you get too see if changes you've made make a difference.

beware of generous transmission loss guestimates, and get a power at the wheels reading, not just the guess at the fly.
