HELP! Locked out of car....

long story short was putting a new window regulator in yesterday and the battery went dead so i took it out and charged it over night. ive just went to put the battery back in, i unlocked the drivers side door, since there was no battery in the central locking didnt work. i popped the bonnet and started to put the battery back in and i left the key in the ignition with the door shut, as soon as the battery was connected the door locked!!!!

how can i get in?
i dont have a spare key cos it was from a salvage yard
my only key is in the ignition now
i do have the bonnet still open if that helps?
its a 1.4 sport so it has remote central locking
the boot is locked too
i do have a manual slide back sunroof if you can get in easy that way?

Cant believe this has happened, didnt even think about the central locking.....

ANY IDEAS YOUVE GOT IM ALL EARS!!!

I don't know of anyway you can force the central locking with the bonnet open. All the central locking bits are in the boot near the fuel filler cap.

You could try the AA/RAC if you are a member - they definitely used to unlock cars like this.

Alternatively you could try the old coat hanger trick between the glass and door. There is a piece of wire which connects the lock to the door knob locking thing and if you can hook that with a bit of wire you can pull the pin up & unlock the car. I got into a friend's AX years ago that way but it took me a while of fiddling around before it worked.

yeah i was thinking that, the whole coat hanger thing but i dont have any wire coat hangers....

do you think if i rung up the RAC/AA and said id pay them to do it they wud? or if they cud tell me themselves?

AA/Rac would get you in, but you'd most probably have to buy membership for them to do it.

i was at a scrappy yesterday and got the window regulator off them so i know they have the window but its not open on a sunday

ive took the battery back out for now just incase, im just worried if i leave it like it is now people might break in, its happened to my dads old cavalier 2 streets away and my neighbour has just told me it happened to his car too, they bend the top of the door out so they can get their arm in to unlock the door....

if all else fails i would wait till tmoz and get the window , if i was nearer i have a window but ime miles away

well ive got a few things going on now, my dad knows a locksmith that broke into his boot before but hes not answering so left a message

the other thing is my mams boyfriend is a member of the AA so hes ringing up to see what they can do, if they will just charge me to do it or whatnot, hope this doesnt result in having to smash the wondow....

well guys ive got my keys back! wooo lol

my dad just knocked on my door with my keys in his hand, he broke into my car but wont tell me how, all he said was that if he wanted to get into my car he cud do it in less than 30 seconds! scary when you think about it like that.... there isnt any marks on it either!!!

he probably just bent the door a little and slid something down and pulled the lock up

they been removed or something? We broke into a car at work just using the packaging wrap (the hard white plastic things) from a cardboard box lol
