I was driving along earlier today at about 80, when all the dials just froze, and the lights behind them turned on without having set them to actually turn on.
So I pulled over to try and find out what was wrong and took the key out of the ignition but the car wouldn't start again. I looked at all the fuses, but none were blown, so I rung up Seat and they had never heard of it before and suggested reconnecting the battery. I did that and the car started, however the dials all froze again and when i took the key out of the ignition it wouldnt start. I eventually rung the AA and they didn't have a clue, but they searched for any engine management and couldnt find any, and then they checked all the battery earth points, which were fine. The strangest thing was that even with the battery disconnected, the dials still stayed in the same place (I thoght they were electronic). Eventually I had to get towed home on the back of truck from Exeter to London.
The dealers are saying it will be 2 WEEKS until they can even look at it! I only bought the car 1.5 months ago so do you think the company I bought it off will pay to get it repaired?
Does anyone have ANY idea as to what it could be or what I could try to fix it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Oli
