Hi just after some help on fitting my egr delete pipe to my pd170 fr leon. Its the bmn 170 engine and im confused to what happens to a small black box attatchement that attaches to the left hand side of it with a grey connecting plug in it. Have found a guide on doing it but the guide is for bkd engine has a vaccum hose going into egr but no black box or plug like mine. Does this just get made redundant and blank off the plug somehow? Uploaded some pics .

You have an electronic egr valve, the bkd does not, it all comes off and the plug remains unplugged in the engine bay. You'll have instant fault codes, it may cause running issues and it'll need the map adjusting to suit.

Ive got egr delete on my map when it was mapped mate so be ok, so just remove it and leave it h plugged then ye?

You can't leave it plugged in as it plugs in to part of the egr valve that you are removing. Best off just taping it up and hiding it somewhere secure.

The part it plugs onto is the electronic potentiometer.

Is it complusory to fit the cooler delete pipe at same time or dont that matter? Been told its not needed

I removed everything but it's not 100% necessary. It's a waste of weight leaving it there though.
