My AUQ engine has recently started to overfuel.

So far the lambda sensor/MAF/Injectors/FPR have all been changed but still overfuels.

Did a smoke test and had a boost leak from the intercooler MAP sensor but this is now fixed.

The car is on a standard oem map but the mechanic could not adjust the fuelling to stop it from overfuelling.

Been told that the head will have to come off for further investigation.

Any ideas what it could be? no fault codes showing either

How do you know it's overfuelling? Have you got VAGCOM logs? Block 031 will give some clues...

all the lambda requests are spot on, the injection on time is spot one, 2.4ms with vagcom and 2.2ms ith an external tool. idle lambda is spot on, but as soon as the car is under light the lambda hits .75 while the request is still around 1.

compression test - ok
turbo oil seal - not looking good as oil found in pipes so turbo is gonna be sent to be checked and repaired.
coolant sensor changed.

vag com coolant temps?

i was getting a dash reading of 90, but vag com showed 60-68 max, possibility of slighty running on auto choke?

worth a punt,

I'm pretty sure my car is overfuelling other than the smell is there any way I can tell for sure?
Are their other symptoms?
I'm thinking of getting VAGCOM and a cable but I'm not 100% if I have OBD1 or 2
2005 LCR

my car over fuels, I know because it pops and bangs upon changing gear and burbles when you let go of the accelerator

I haven't done anything to sort this though, it's too cold!

OBD2 port and it is under the ashtray behind a plastic cover.

Hi Matt, how are you fella. On mine, the turbo seals had gone and exhaust valves were burnt out so the head came off and got re-skimmed and parts got replaced. so far the head has cost £363 and i still have to pay for the rest of the work carried out mate.
