Where is the air filter on a standard 1.2?

Some have told me that its in the engine cover?

Thanks, I do try and keep it neat!

Yeah the Air filter is in the cover and the cover is basically the airbox, never actaully seen where the filter is inside it though.

And a drilled airbox i guess?

You can get induction kits, its just that you won't be able to have the engine cover on. And I think I remember from somewhere else that a drilled airbox won't really do much. If you want to keep the engine cover it would be best to go for a better filter like a green one

Look at all the room... you can get your hands around your engine bay!

If you remove the airbox does it leave a circular hole to... say clamp a cone filter on?

I guess I could get my engine cover (alloy/steel one) podercoated to look better couldn't I?

And then bolt a filter on? Has anyone done this?

you can get different air filters for them yes, i would upload a picture of mine but its in bits at the minute lol, they dont make much difference though.

Really no point altering a 1.2 engine If I'm totally honest, I've had one and the performance increases are marginal.

Especially the air filter route Cone filters are pointless they'll just intake warm air.
Go for a green cotten filter if anything
