Hi folks just bought an 03 leon tdi (90) s 5 door for a second car.

Need a bit of help with the following and was hoping some of you in the know could help.

1. The passanger door is tempremental, sometimes it opens from the outside sometimes it doesn't but it always opens from the inside and seems to then work fine from the outside after it has been opened from the inside until it is locked again (hope that makes sense). Have tried squirting it with WD40 etc but no joy.

2. Can the anti hijack / auto locking thing (think it kicks in above 15mph) be turned off.

3. The front sills seem to hold water, this water is not getting into the car and the sills seem solid enough no rust or anything but water seems to sit ontop of the plastic sill gaurd things and only runs off once the doors are opened.

4. Last but not least, does anyone know anywhere other than the dealer that can sort me out a 2nd key (we're near Dundee in Scotland) its the 2 button older style key , not the new flip style, and Seat want about a million pounds to get me one.

Thanks in advance.

2. - yes - VAG-com or dealer

3. - Door seals. Original foam seals start to leak with age. Replace with Seat sealer (mastic-like cord) or bathroom silicone seal. Requires the door inner to be removed and the door ancilliaries carrier ("door card") to be slackened off (remove all bolts but top 3, loosen them; avoids having to take the glass out)

Hey up, if you look on the end of the door there's a rubber grommet, pull it out and there's an allen key bolt, remove it and the handle pulls out, inside you'll see a metal rod with a flat part at the top end, figure out which way the outer handle moves it then give it a slight bend in the opposite direction, that's pressumiong your handles are the same as mine lol.

Get some bigger nozzles on those injectors too, they rock.:D

And welcome to the site.

Ps you can get new keys off ebay apparently.:)

Just to check guys, we have just had a good bit of rain and all the footwells and carpets are still dry, however upon opening the doors to check there was lots of water trapped on the sills, thankfully it all ran off onto the ground and not back into the car.

Is this just a luck thing or could it easily end up in the footwells if rain was heavier, have looked at the thread for door seals and it looks a do-able fix but a massive pain in the butt,

Do i need to do the fix then ?

Stupid question but if i seal up the door ancilliaries carrier bit with sealent wont the inside just fill with water and rust and stuff, dooh stupid me im guessing thats what the drain holes are for.

Just one more, its not so much the price of the key more the cost to get the imobilizer transponder coded thats annoying me. Ta once again

Check the drain holes along the bottom of the doors too, I think they tend to get overlooked quite often.:)
