The car didn't have this issue when I 1st got it. It seemed to start after the clutch and flywheel was replaced.

Bill is there any way of identifying the turbo and waste gate whilst its on the car?

How much would it be to get it ported if needed and what other options are there?

something disturbed or snagged, not on properly, or split etc etc.... IF it was ok before gbox came off.

Needs looking at dude

Well I think it was ok before. I only spanked it a couple of times before the clutch went,
But it didn't go into limp mode once.

The car will get a visit to yours soon and hopefully it wont be anything major.

If its the worst case of bad hot side is it expensive to put right?
Is it some thing you can sort out? Guess its not a day job.

I have the same same fault mate, I replaced 3 times, twice with euro car parts remanufactured bosche maf then the third with a genuine seat. mine still comes up with the fault. I believe its where the car is overboosting the engine is taking in more air than it think it wants so the car believes the maf is at fault.

but to answer your question yes its possible for a MAF to actually cause overboost although I would do some logs on your MAF sensor readings before replacing as there not exactly cheap!

in my case the overboost is the cause of the "MAF fault". the mods exceeding the standard map. so stage 2 remap is on the cards very soon. once this has been done I bet any money that the "maf fault" will disappear along with the overboost

more boost is going to be drawing in more air hence maf signal too high error...
cause - effect
chicken - egg (<<not such a good analogy, egg came 1st)

if maps not done for the mods, it could be airflows etc exceed the factory limits and remap may well bring things back in line.

eliminating leaks 1st as a potential cause of course (90% cars come thru here have leaks unknown to their owners fyi, and revealed on pre map smoke test)

Cheers for the input, I am sure there is a leak somewhere on mine as I can here a whistle when coming on boost,

I guess thats why my car doesn't meet the requested boost at low RPM then overboosts at higher RPM.

Im not gonna waste any more time trying to self diagnose this fault.
Will just have to get it checked by Bill once funds allow,
Need to sort Alfie's birthday 1st.
